[ INDUSTRIES ] / [ DISTRIBUTION ]

Software for distribution. Where every minute in the warehouse counts.

Wholesalers, distributors, multichannel retailers, e-commerce with in-house warehouse. Between orders coming in from different channels, per-customer pricing, and returns management, operational efficiency is the difference between margin and loss. We build the software that enables it.

[ THE PROBLEMS ]

What we keep seeing.

  • E-commerce and ERP that don't talk to each other

The e-commerce platform is modern (Shopify, WooCommerce, marketplaces), the ERP is from the 2000s or a vertical system. Today orders are re-entered manually or via overnight CSV imports. Errors, delays, customer service overload.

  • Complex per-customer / per-channel price-list management

Price lists differentiated by customer, by channel, by quantity, with special offers and annual contracts. The pricing logic has grown over time and today it's hard to maintain and to reproduce outside the current system.

  • Multichannel customer service overloaded

WhatsApp, chat, email, phone: the same customers ask where their order is. Answering requires checking 3 different systems. Long response times, inconsistent quality.

  • Complex and costly returns management

Partial returns, replacements, refunds: often semi-manual processes with frequent errors. Lack of unified tracking from carrier to ERP, with impacts on accounting reconciliation.

  • Custom 2000s-era ERPs still in production

AS/400 or custom RPG-based ERPs are very common in Italian distribution. They work but don't scale for today's volumes and channels. Integration with marketplaces, e-commerce, shipment tracking systems turns out to be complex.

[ HOW WE DO IT ]

The three pillars applied to this industry.

  • [ PILLAR 01 ]

    AI agents and LLM integration

AI agents for unified customer service (WhatsApp + chat + email), automatic order tracking, semi-automatic returns handling. AI for email routing, document automation on accounts payable, customer-review classification.

  • [ PILLAR 02 ]

    Legacy system modernization

AS/400 and custom 2000s-era ERPs are extremely common in Italian distribution. We modernize progressively with the strangler pattern. Middleware between modern e-commerce and legacy ERP when a full rewrite is not the priority.

  • [ PILLAR 03 ]

    Custom software for regulated industries

For distributors in regulated sectors (food, pharmaceutical, medical devices): traceability, audit trail, sector-specific compliance. GDPR-by-design for B2C customer data.

[ REGULATIONS ]

The specific rules of this industry.

  • GDPR

B2C customer data, marketing consent management, configurable retention. Privacy-by-design for new software.

  • E-invoicing + cross-border reporting

E-invoicing obligations via the Italian SDI, cross-border transaction reporting. Automatable end-to-end.

  • Sector regulations (food, pharmaceutical)

Traceability, document retention, compliance with sector-specific guidelines (HACCP, GMP for those handling drugs/medical devices).

[ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ]

The questions we get most often.

How much does a WhatsApp AI agent improve customer service?

Typical results: average response time from hours to seconds, 60-80% automation rate on tier-one requests (where is my order, can I change the address, when does it arrive), 40-60% reduction in phone contacts. The human team stays focused on cases that require judgment.

Can I integrate my Shopify with a custom legacy ERP?

Yes, one of the most frequent cases. We build a middleware layer between Shopify (or Magento/PrestaShop/WooCommerce) and the legacy ERP. Orders flow automatically from the site to the ERP, stock is synced real-time, tracking is handled automatically. No more duplicate data entry.

How much does it cost to modernize a custom distribution ERP?

Typical ranges: €60,000-150,000 for integration projects (middleware on top of the legacy). €120,000-400,000 for progressive replacement with module-by-module rebuild. The choice depends on how critical the legacy is and on the availability of internal knowledge.

Do you have experience with B2B marketplaces like Cefla, Pisaroni, ARIBA?

We work with Italian and international B2B marketplaces (Amazon Business, ARIBA, sector-specific supply-chain marketplaces). Typical integration includes catalog sync, order reception, stock updates, invoicing. The technical specifications of individual marketplaces we learn during discovery.
